Sam is looking forward to the challenge of Bisley style shooting and all the individual and team shoots in South Africa, Sam still doesn’t like green eggs and ham.

Manager | NRANZ President
Brian Carter
It has been many years since I was 25 years of age, but I have the honour of being the Manager of the New Zealand u25 team for the 2024 matches in South Africa.
I can’t say that the appointment has made me feel 25 again, but I can say that It has been my great pleasure to be associated with this wonderful group of young shooters.
Hardworking, committed, thoughtful and caring of others, they give me great hope for the future of our sport.

Shooter
Daniel Alexander
Born in 1999, Daniel is an IT student at ARA Institute of Canterbury in Christchurch. He started shooting with FTR for the Christchurch Rifle Club in 2014 and was selected for the New Zealand FTR Team in 2018. He switched to TR after the 2018 NRANZ Nationals and F Class match and was selected for the New Zealand 2019 Under 21 Team. Daniel is currently a member of the Malvern Rifle Club in Canterbury.
In his spare time Daniel is a keen road cyclist and cycling fan.

Shooter
Dom Henry
Born way back in 2004, Dom Henry grew up in Blenheim, attending Marlborough Boys’ College. Dom is currently studying at the University of Canterbury as a 2nd year law and commerce student, majoring in economics.
Dom's shooting career started at the ripe age of 12 when given the opportunity to have a go at smallbore rifle shooting through intermediate school. Dom has gone on to represent New Zealand multiple times for 25yd and 50m smallbore rifle shooting alongside competing in both air rifle and 3-position shooting.
Dom was introduced to fullbore in 2021 and has since pursued the discipline as his main form of shooting. World Champs in South Africa will be Dom’s first U-25 match and first overseas shooting event.
Dom is super excited to shoot alongside and share a drink with heaps of new juniors from around the globe.

Non-travelling Reserve
Finn Darrall
Born in 2006, Finn has lived his entire life in the city of Upper Hutt. He is currently studying science majoring in computer science and mathematics at Victoria University of Wellington. Finn was always interested in firearms and was fortunate enough to live near the Seddon fullbore rifle range and the Upper Hutt smallbore range. He joined the Trentham Rifle Club in 2020. In 2023 he placed second in the club championship, and a year later finally convinced his father to begin shooting too.

Finn has represented his region on multiple occasions, being pitted against much more experienced shooters but still being able to hold his own fairly well due to the support of the Trentham rifle club members. It is due to the advice from the Trentham rifle club members and others from across New Zealand that he was able to make the team and improve his shooting at a rate he would have thought impossible in 2020 when he began. But his ability to even do the sport in the first place is thanks to the enthusiastic logistical and financial support of his parents to which he is very grateful.

Shooter
Jacob Morriss
Born in 2001, Jacob grew up in Blenheim near the top of New Zealand’s South Island. His love for shooting first begun at a young age, learning to hunt with his father and brothers. Jacob began shooting target rifles competitively when he reached high school and a year or two later took up fullbore. Jacob is a twin which always made the shooting rivalry very competitive.
Jacob was selected as the reserve for the NZ u21 Team at the 2019 World Championship in Trentham, New Zealand. Jacob has formed some great friendships with the u25 team he will be competing in South Africa with as they were members of this team.
He looks forward to heading away with a great team and challenging themselves to reach the success they did in 2019, as well as catching up with some of the old and new shooters from across the world.
